About TextBench Lab

TextBench Lab is a collection of free online tools for working with text. At the moment it includes Word Counter, Character Counter, Text Case Converter, Password Generator, JSON Formatter & Validator, Lorem Ipsum Generator, Remove Duplicate Lines and Text Diff Checker. Each tool lives on its own page, does one job, and is written to be quick to understand and easy to use on a phone or a computer.

The site is free to use. You do not need an account, an email address or a payment method to use any of the tools.

Many everyday tasks around writing and simple development work are small but frequent: checking whether an essay fits a word limit, tidying the capitalization of a headline, validating a block of JSON, or comparing two versions of a draft. These tasks should not need a heavy application, a sign-up form or a long wait.

We built TextBench Lab so that these jobs take a few seconds. Open the page, paste your text and read the result. Each page also explains how the tool works, answers common questions and points to related tools.

The tools run in your web browser. When you paste or type text into a tool, it is processed on your own device by the page itself. The text is not sent to our servers and we do not store it. Closing the tab clears it.

Because the work happens locally, the tools are usually fast and keep working even if your connection is slow once the page has loaded.

We aim to keep the site simple, honest and useful. In practice that means:

• Keeping every tool free to use, with no sign-up.
• Writing our own explanations and guides instead of copying other sites.
• Keeping the pages fast, readable and usable on small screens.
• Telling you plainly how your data is handled, in our policy pages.
• Correcting mistakes when they are reported.

To be equally clear about the other side:

• We do not ask you to create an account.
• We do not upload or keep the text you enter into the tools.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not provide professional, legal, financial or security advice through the tools.

We test the tools and review the content on this site before publishing it. Tools like counters, converters and formatters follow clear rules, but small differences are possible. For example, different programs count words in slightly different ways. Where a result may differ from another program, the tool page explains why. If you notice something wrong, please tell us and we will look into it.

To help cover the cost of running the site, TextBench Lab plans to show advertising served by third parties such as Google AdSense in the future. Ads will be clearly separated from the tools, and the tools will stay free to use.
